Bomb threat evacuates courthouse

Police evacuated the Mills E. Godwin Courthouse and blocked off part of North Main Street for more than an hour Wednesday to investigate a bomb threat.

The threat was called into the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court clerk’s office around 11:35 a.m., said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department. Firefighters searched the building, then reopened it around 12:45 p.m.

No arrests have been made, George said.
