While designing the layout of her new business, Rhonda Bunch was looking for the perfect scene for a large mural for the reception area of Remedies MediSpa.

Someone reminded her of a favorite photograph she had taken during a trip to Belgium.

Everyone agreed that the peaceful canal scene was perfect, and that local Suffolk artist Miriam Birdsong was the perfect artist to bring the scene to life.

Birdsong, who teaches photography at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy when she’s not painting, recently completed the project.

Affiliated with Lakeview Medical Center, Remedies MediSpa welcomes clients to a host of services, including, but not limited to, microdermabrasion, massage, hair and nails.

Remedies Bunch, who manages the business, said that her spa is &uot;where the medical world and the spa world come together to offer the ultimate remedy.&uot;
