Fork-River meet tonight

Tonight at King’s Fork High School, the Bulldogs have a shot to make history three times over. They can grab their first Homecoming win, their first Southeastern District win and their first intra-Suffolk win in a single fell swoop! Of course, standing in the way is that little matter of defeating Nansemond River, which hasn’t lost to a local rival since 2001-02 and beat the Bulldogs 35-0 last year. Will River, which defeated its other intra-city adversity Lakeland two weeks ago, continue its dominance, or will history be made? Find out at 7 p.m. tonight!

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy heads west for the night, charging off to Saluda to take on Christchurch at 4 p.m. The Saints may have some momentum tonight, coming off a big win over Catholic, but also committed too many penalties and fumbles to be safe for long.

Lakeland also leaves town, looking for its first victory of the season at Great Bridge, also at 7 p.m.
