Let’s go metric

Editor, the News-Herald:

I think that the United States should convert to the metric system. It is a whole lot easier and makes life that way too.

It would make more sense to a lot more people and some kids that don’t like math and science then might like it more. Also, if kids understood the materials that they were learning better and quicker, schools might be able to teach more in one year. If this were to happen, then kids could be more prepared for collage and more prepared to face the world and try to find a good job that provides for them.

America is basically the only place that doesn’t use the metric system; so if someone were to go to a foreign country for a job or something to that extent and America converted to the metric system, they would already be familiar with the system used in the country in which they are traveling to. Also if someone was coming over to America from a foreign country, they would be familiar with our system too. It would make things a lot easier if we converted systems and things would make a lot more sense. I think that switching over to the metric system would be a great step in securing America and Americans’ futures.
