Peanut Fest Parade today

Hundreds of people are expected to show up to the Peanut Fest Parade this morning.
Nearly 100 floats, bands, step performers and the like have signed on to participate in the parade, which begins at 10 a.m., said Melanie Scoggins, a spokeswoman with the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Participants will begin lining up at 7:30 a.m.
The parade will follow its usual route, beginning on South Broad Street. It will proceed up West Washington Street, then move around the corner onto North Main Street. The parade will end in front of First Baptist Church.
