Frankie Ollie Lawrence Sr., 58, of 45 Radford Street in Portsmouth, died Oct. 9, 2005 in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was a native of Suffolk and son of the late Elize and Arlethia Brown Lawrence.

He attended Booker T. Washington High School and was a self-employed contractor for Safeway Cab Company for 30 years. He was a Baptist.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Flossie Lawrence; two daughters, Ernestine Clark (Richard) of Stone Mountain, Geo. and Shantae Copeland (Alphonso) of Portsmouth; a son, Frankie Lawrence Jr. (Rita) of Portsmouth; six sisters, Mary Lawrence Tynes of Martiez, Calif., Ethel I. Lawrence of Newport News, Millie Lawrence of Chesapeake, Dorothy Lawrence Stevenson of Suffolk, Barbara Lawrence Shelton of Portsmouth, and Sarah Lawrence Kester of Lakeville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Frankie &uot;Jay&uot; Lawrence, Richard &uot;Scooter&uot; Clark Jr., and Tavion Copeland; a godchild, Ebony Williams; father and mother-in-law, James and Flossie Williams; close friend of the family, Michelle Artemus; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 14, 2005 in Poplar Run Baptist Church, 5330 Bennetts Pasture Road, by the Rev. James Williams. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
