Nepotism is out of hand

I was interested to read in Allison Williams’ Oct. 10 article, &uot;Candidate’s wife presses flesh at P’nut Fest&uot; that the Republican gubernatorial candidate’s wife had been director of the Virginia Tobacco Settlement Foundation.

What exactly qualifies a teacher to be a director of a high-budget grant agency? And how does the candidate avoid the label of nepotism?

I hate having my government be nothing but a plaything and a guaranteed paycheck for politicos’ families and friends! Nepotism is getting out of hand in America.

And I certainly don’t remember it ever being as bad in Virginia as it has been under several recent administrations.

Are we citizens lowering our standards?
