The Suffolk Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will sponsor its annual Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to noon, at King’s Fork High School, Suffolk.

Drinking water and juice will be available for participants.

The theme is &uot;It’s Time to Make Great Strides&uot; for Project Walking Fete.

The purpose of the walk-a-thon is to promote better health and to raise funds to support and conduct activities beneficial to the community.

This year’s local activity will target displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina who are residing in Suffolk.

A portion of the funds will be used to support projects of the organization’s National Foundation.
