The color of Jade is victory!

Jade Bishop served over 24 points, including nine aces, as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy swept visiting Windsor 25-12, 25-17, 25-17 Monday evening. Michelle Boucher dropped down nine kills and Minka Foster six in the victory.

Boucher nailed her first kill on the game’s opening point, and Bishop’s first ace gave the Lady Saints a 3-2 lead. Boucher, Foster and Kristen Nuckles all recorded kills as NSA got to 9-5, and Leigh Pfeil and Ellen Giermak knocked over aces to up the lead to 15-8. Each team got a point, and Bishop went to the line and blasted over two aces, with Boucher knocking two kills and Foster one to get to 22-9. The Lady Dukes scored three points, but Boucher went to the serving line and knocked over a pair to take the first game.

Bishop hammered NSA to a 4-0 lead in the second, but the Lady Dukes roared to a 5-4 lead. Boucher served three points, and Foster, Bishop and Lexi Taves all nailed kills for an 18-9 lead. A kill from Giermak got NSA the ball, and Boucher and Foster spiked home two more points. Nuckles tipped a shot between the Lady Duke defense for the final point.

Bishop and Boucher combined for three aces as NSA got a 6-3 lead early in the third game, and the teams rallied to an 11-10 NSA advantage.

Then Bishop took over, whacking three straight aces to give her team a 16-12 lead. A Boucher kill and two more Bishop serves upped the lead to 19-12, and Foster tipped another shot past Windsor to go up 22-14. Windsor scored three points, but a pair of Foster aces ended the game.

The Lady Saints faced Peninsula Catholic late Tuesday, and host Norfolk Collegiate Thursday.
