Minnie Wilson, 65, of the 1300 block of Sierra Drive died Oct. 23, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Isle of Wight county and the daughter of the late Junius Walter and Thelma Applewhite Wilson.

She was a retired telephone operator from the City of New York. She was a member of Holly Grove A.M.E. Church of Windsor and a member of the Senior Choir.

She is survived by two sisters, Ella Wilson Scott of New York and Clementine Wilson of Williamsburg; two brothers, James E. Herndon (Lena) of Suffolk and Rufus Wilson of New York; a devoted friend and caretaker, Cynthia A. Thompson, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Oct. 28, 2005 at Holly Grove A.M.E. Church, 21404 Orbit Road, Windsor, by the Rev. Timothy Johnson. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of James and Lena Herndon. 820 Garfield Avenue and at the home of Cynthia Thompson, 1308 Sierra Drive. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
