Mrs. Corene Lawrence Sasser, 91, of 1400 Barnes Road, died Oct. 24, 2005 in Southampton Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and daughter of the late Edward and Mrs. Katie Catherine Baker Lawrence and widow of Therbia Sasser. A member of Mt. Sinia Baptist Church, the Senior Chior and willing workers. Surviving are one brother, Robert Lawrence Sr. (Wattle); one sister, Louise Vines (Rev. Willle L.), six nieces and two nephews. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday at in Mt. Sinia Baptist Church by the Rev. J.H. Goode. Burial will be in the church cemetery, and the body will be taken from Peebles Funeral Home to the church at 10 a.m. There will be a wake from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peebles Funeral Home.
