Prayer breakfast

The Tidewater Women’s Conference Committee will be having their annual prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. Oct. 29 at Faith Temple Ministries, 476 Wellons St. The guest speaker will be Pastor Janie Jernigan of Mission of Truth Church, Norfolk. Cost is $10. For information, call 539-0023.
Musical extravaganza
There will be a musical extravaganza Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. at Paul Branch Missionary Church, 1701 Whitemarsh Road.
St. Mary’s events
St. Mary’s Church of God in Christ, 3637 Nansemond Parkway, is having its community fall festival from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 29. The event will feature hayrides, pony rides, clowns and other activities. Call 538-0155 for information. Pastor is Dwight A. Nixon.
Gospel concert
The Pentecostal Churches of Christ Holiness WorldWide, located at Rising St. James PHC, 201 N. Sixth St., will host a gospel musical extravaganza beginning at 6 p.m. Oct 29.
Performers include the Gospel Harmoneers of Ivor, Rising St. James Male Chorus, Greater St. Stephens Mass Choir and the God of Deliverance Mass Choir, Ivor. For more information, please call 539-7026.
Capernaum SDA
Capernaum Seventh Day Adventist, 314 York St., as a Community Service Capernaum will prepare a free dinner every Wednesday night beginning from 4:30 to 6 p.m. On Fridays, there will be fresh fruit, vegetables and canned goods. Clothes are available on Sundays. Call 934-9814 for more information.

Southside Baptist Church Harvest Festival which will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
New Mt. Zion events
New Mt. Zion Holiness Church, 2113 Georgia Ave., has Sunday school at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11:30 a.m. each Sunday. Virginia Harris, pastor of Faith Work, will be guest speaker at the 4 p.m. Sunday service.
Fall bazaar
West End Baptist will hold its fall bazaar Nov. 5 from 8:30 until 2:30, at 105 St James Avenue.
Lunch will be served for eat-in or take-out.
Featured shops include The Bake Shop, Canned Good Shop, Christmas Shop, Baby Shop and Garden Shop.
