Roosevelt J. Waters, 62, of the 3400 block of Waters Avenue, died Oct. 26, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and was preceded in death by his father, Robert Waters.

He was retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding Company after 38 years as an electrician. He was a member of Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Waters; two daughters, Karen Skeeter (Bobby) and Pamela Waters, both of Suffolk; one son, Kenneth Waters (Selena) of Portsmouth; his mother, Bessie B. Waters of Suffolk; one sister, Shirley Arline (Joe) of Suffolk; four brothers, Henry Lee Waters (Yvonne), John C. Waters (Myra), Vemon Waters (Geraldine), and Robert E. Waters (Oris), all of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Damecia Skeeter, Dominiqua Skeeter, Shontierra Waters, Arous Phillips, and Victor Phillips; one great-grandchild, Demon Rountree; loving and caring in-laws; three uncles, Samuel Beamon (Lucy) of New York, Andrew Beamon of Suffolk, and Willie Beamon of Syracuse, N.Y.; one aunt, Essie Cross of Syracuse, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 31, 2005 in Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Franklin Williams. Interment will be in the Waters Family Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be sent to www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
