Relief help sought

MURFREESBORO – The Chowan College men’s basketball team will open their 2005-2006 campaign this Friday at the Helms Center as they host Lakehead University (Canada). Tip off is slated for 7:00pm.

The Braves are coming off a 14-12 season, the most wins posted by the program since make the transition to a four-year school in 1993.

Junior NCCAA All-American Trayvon Lathan (Chesapeake, VA) returns as the Braves’ top point-getter while sophomore Montino Williams (Hopewell, VA) had a break out freshman season as the Braves second leading scorer.

The backcourt tandem will make an exciting show for the 2005-2006 season.

The men’s basketball team is asking fans to join them as they collect non-perishable items for Hurricane Katrina victims. Donations will be taken at the door of the Helms Center. All those that donate an item will receive free admission to the game.
