Deacon John L. Everett Jr. of Suffolk, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y. died Nov. 12, 2005. He was the son of the late John Everett Sr. and Lizzie Sumner.

He was a member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ of Suffolk.

Survivors include his wife, Earthell Everett; a son, John L. Everett III of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter Janet Patterson of Vauxhall, N.J.; one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, one aunt and a host of nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Peebles Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted at noon Nov. 19 at Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ by the Rev. Dr. Millard F. Boone III. Burial will be in the Sumner Family Cemetery on Camp Pond Road.
