Wallace James Lewter Jr.

Wallane James Lewter Jr., 54, of the 100 block of South Lloyd Street, Suffolk, died Nov. 15, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Suffolk.

He was a 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from the United States Postal Service in Richmond in 2004 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Greater Sweet Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Lewter is survived by a daughter Tyra Lee Lewter of Richmond; son Rasheen Parker of Richmond; parents Wallace Lewter Sr., and Marion Lewter of Suffolk; sisters Brenda L. Nichols (Joel) and Linda Lewter of Suffolk; brothers Major Lewter (Myra) of Maryland, Zann Lewter (Phyllis) of Washington, D.C., Chester Lewter (Juma) of Richmond, and Lonnie Askew (Theresa) of Suffolk; an aunt Lola Blount of Suffolk; uncles Raleigh Lewter and Melvin Lewter of Suffolk; and nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, in Greater Sweet Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church by Bishop Madison G. Copeland.

Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Albert G. Horton Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.

The family will be at 108 South Lloyd St., Suffolk.
