Joseph Pugh

Joseph Pugh, formerly of the 600 block of Chisholm Lane died Nov. 21, 2005 in Tandem Health Care of Windsor. He was a native of Southampton County and was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura W. Pugh; his wife, Ester Pugh; and a son, Eugene Pugh.

He was retired from Obici Hospital and Forest Glen Middle School where he had worked as a custodian. He was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Boykins.

He is survived by two daughters, Edith Pope (George C.) and Virginia Banks, both of Suffolk; three sons, Eldridge Pugh (Deborah ) of Baltimore, Md., Earl Pugh (Catherine), and Melvin Pugh (Beverly), both of Suffolk; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 26, 2005 at Crocker Funeral Home by the Rev. Matthew Rooks. Interment will be in the Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery, Branchville. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
