White Poinsettia Celebration Weekend at White’s Old Mill Garden Center begins today and runs through Dec. 4. Free tram rides through the greenhouse will be available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon until 4 p.m. Sunday. Santa will be there at the same times each day. Call 487-2300.

The Suffolk Citywide Martin Luther King Day Celebration Committee is accepting applications for the 2006 I Have a Dream Award. It is presented annually to a group or individual working to fulfill the ideals of the slain civil rights leader. Bennetts Creek Ruritan will be holding Turkey-Ham Shoots every Saturday through Nov. 26 at 5433 Shoulders Hill Road. The benefits help the Driver Volunteer Fire Department, Boy Scout Troop 16 and the North Suffolk YMCA.
