Griffin marries Leonard

Karen Melissa Griffin and Christopher Thomas Leonard were united in marriage Saturday, July 16, 2005 in Providence United Methodist Church, Suffolk.

The double ring candlelight ceremony was officiated by Rev. F. H. “Hank” Teague, Jr. and Rev. Lisa R. Blackmonson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry C. Griffin.

She is the maternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton H. Pope, Sr. and paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Garland Griffin, Sr., all of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Ms. Susan Leonard and Mr. James Leonard II.

He is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Elizabeth Pfleger, all of Virginia Beach.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Maid of honor was Kimberly Griffin, sister of the bride; attendants were Lori Lewis and Angela Chaney, friends of the bride and groom.

Flower girls were Mattie Pope, cousin of the bride, and Alexus Monroe and Morgan Massie, nieces of the groom.

Brian Warholak served as the best man, friend of groom and bride; groomsmen were James Leonard, III, brother of the groom and Brian Crouch, friend of the bride and groom.

Ring bearers were Landon Miller and Bryan Barry II, nephews of the groom.

Karen Pope, aunt of the bride served as mistress of ceremonies.

Guest book and program attendants were Kim Lewis, aunt of the groom and Amanda Pope, cousin of the bride.

Acolyte was Samantha Pope, cousin of the bride.

The wedding music was provided by Ms. Scotti Robertson.

The reception was held at Holiday Inn Suffolk and after a wedding trip to Savannah, Georgia the couple is residing in Suffolk.

The couple wishes to thank their families and friends for their gifts, love and support.
