A Suffolk man thrown from his car during a collision over the weekend is recovering in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Armund Rohshaun Eason, 19, of the 100 block of Pitchkettle Road was airlifted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

Eason, who was driving a 1998 Ford Escort west on Portsmouth Boulevard around 9:15 a.m. Sunday, drifted off the left side of the highway, according to the police report. After striking two small trees, a road sign and the guard rail, the vehicle slid 10 feet down the rail before spinning back onto the highway.
