The Suffolk City Council is withholding our lawful right

The Suffolk City Council is withholding our lawful right to vote for our mayor.

We will be the last city in this so-called “Hampton Road area” to get this right.

I have always lived in the “Tidewater area” and do not care what new-bes and Johnny-come-lately’s want to call it.

We should get to elect our mayor, but short of that, What about term limits? The governor is limited to one, four-year term. This could be the answer we need.

The president of the United States is limited to two terms.

The city council should be limited to two terms and the city manager no more than six years.

The city council elections should also be moved to November to increase voter participation.

Charter change anyone?
