Bishop Hermon Reid

BOSTON – Bishop Hermon Reid, 73, was called from labor to reward on March 31, 2006. He was born in Holland, (Nansemond County) Virginia and was the son of Herbert Reid and the late Emma Baton Reid. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Elois Marie Goodman Reid and two brothers, Lawrence and Norris Reid.

Bishop Reid was the founder of All Saints Pentecostal House of Prayer, Boston, where he served as pastor for 25 years.

He is survived by his four children, Hermon Reid Jr., Norris Reid, Patricia McDowell, and Laverne Woodley, all of Boston; father, Herbert Reid; sister, Marion Cross; brother, Ernest Reid, all of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries, 307 County Street, Suffolk. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at Crocker Funeral Home at 10 a.m. for the procession to the church. Condolences may be offered at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
