IOW Day in the Park set for Saturday

The Isle of Wight County Parks and Recreation Department will have the Fifth Annual Day in the Park Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

the Carrollton Nike Park Soccer Complex.

Some of the programs that will be featured are ceramics for children & adults, regular aerobics, senior aerobic, tennis, Martial Arts/women self defense, dance, soccer camp, museum camp, summer program activities and registration forms, cheerleaders camp, basketball camp, skate park and many more activities.

There will be food and music so come early and enjoy the clown making funny cartoon characters out of balloons.

Some of the special rides will be the pedestal joust known to some as the &uot;gladiator eliminator,&uot; a large moonwalk, and the 22-foot giant slide.

There has been a change where the treasure hunt will be held on May 6 at Nike Park during the hours of operation. The winner must be present to win when announced at 1:45 p.m.

Special guest appearance will be made by Dr. Christian from 105.3/107.7/92.1 and a gospel group.

There will be prizes for the children and adults.
