Reaching Our Youth Through Bible Basics will sponsor a seminar on drugs and violence among youth, presented by the Suffolk Police Department from 6-7:30 p.m. in the 300 block of York Street. Open to all and free food and drinks included.

The Suffolk Public Library System is presenting its 2006 &uot;Once Upon a Time&uot; Summer Reading Program, aimed at all age groups, in all branches of the library. Reading logs to be filled out for each child who reads at least 10 books are available at each branch upon registration. Credit is given for newspapers, magazines and books on tape.

Successful completion and submission of the completed form by August 1-12 will result in an awards package being mailed to each participant. Special events are scheduled at the Morgan Memorial Library, the Chuckatuck Library, the East Suffolk Library and the Bennett’s Creek Library. The Mogarts Beach Day Camp at the FFA-FHA Camp at Mogarts Beach, north of Smithfield, is in its 17th year. The hours are 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.
