Mr. & Mrs. Raiford E. Baker of Suffolk are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda J. M. Baker to Jonathan D. Smith, son of Mr. & Mrs. John P. Smith of Greenville, N.C.

Miss Baker is a 2002 graduate of Lakeland High School, Suffolk, and is currently a senior at John Wesley College in High Point, N.C. She is also employed as a Youth Pastor/Associate Pastor at Holly Spring Friends Meeting in Asheboro, N.C. She will graduate in June 2007 with a degree in Bible Theology with a concentration in Youth Ministry.

Mr. Smith is a 2003 graduate of Washington High School, Washington, N.C. He is currently a junior at John Wesley College in High Point, N.C. Jon is pursuing a degree in Bible Theology and Christian Ministries with a concentration of mission work upon graduation.

An August 12, 2006 wedding is planned at Somerton Friends Meeting in Suffolk.
