NCACC appoints Davis

RALEIGH – Hertford County Commissioner Dupont Davis was recently named to the Board of Directors of an organization he previously served as president.

A press release issued by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) stated that NCACC President Terry Garrison of Vance County gave Davis a one-year appointment as an ‘at-large’ director.

Davis served as the NCACC President from 2003-2004 and has been active with the organization during his tenure as a county commissioner.

Davis said it is a big help to Hertford County to have one its commissioners on the state board.

&uot;We get information first hand,&uot; Davis said. &uot;We are always front and center whenever rules and regulations are made for the state’s 100 counties.&uot;

The Association’s Board is comprised of five officers, 18 district directors, five at large appointees and 11 other members who either serve on the board of the National Association of Counties or chair Association committees.

The Association is the official voice of all 100 counties on issues being considered by the General Assembly and state or federal agencies.
