Wilbur Jackson &uot;Junior&uot; Taylor Jr., 82, died Nov. 29, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Born Aug. 13, 1924, in Gates County, N.C., he was the son of the late Wilbur J. and Eula Mae Benton Taylor, brother of Richard Leon Taylor, and sister of Willie Hunter Taylor Polson. Mr. Taylor was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church, where he served on many committees of the church and was a former chairman of the board of deacons. He served as a Scoutmaster in Whaleyville, was a former president of the Whaleyville Ruritan Club and retired from Suffolk Chemical in 1977.

Mr. Taylor was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Eure Taylor; daughter, Joyce Taylor Brinkley; son, Allen J. Taylor and wife, Glenda B.; granddaughters, Karen Brinkley McCullough and husband, Christopher D., Patricia Gail Taylor and Melissa Lauren Taylor; great-granddaughter, Carlie D. McCullough, all of Suffolk.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Great Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Donald Ray Jones, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory
