Sarah Louise Luster, of 506 Battery Ave., Suffolk, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 4, at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ashburn and Annie Whitfield and her husband Thomas Luster. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Jean Mayfield and her two sons, Alfred Luster and Wesley Luster. She is survived by her five sons Thomas C. Luster Jr. (Sharon) of Md., Charles Luster (Ruby) of Washington, D.C., Overseer Prenell Luster, of Suffolk, Elder Carlton Luster (Jackee), of Virginia Beach and Dennis Luster,

of Suffolk. She will be missed by her loving and devoted

daughter Annie Stallings (Melvin Sr.) of Suffolk, her 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, eight nieces, three nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Sarah was a member of Antioch United Church of Christ and was part of the pastor’s aide, senior choir, gospel choir, deaconess and Sunday school teacher. A funeral of triumph will be held at Antioch United Church of Christ on Friday, Dec. 8, at 1:30 p.m., with the Overseer Prenell Luster officiating. The family will receive friends at the daughter’s home (Melvin & Annie Stallings), 1101 Blythewood Lane, (Lake Kennedy). The family will assemble on Friday at the daughter’s home for the funeral processional on Friday at

1:15 p.m. Visitation will be on Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Luster will be placed in the church for viewing from noon until service time.
