Suffolk police are hoping the public can help them solve a number of brazen daylight burglaries that have occurred in recent days, with four of them happening on Thursday.

According to the police department, the incidents, happening in the Pitchkettle Point, Pitchkettle Farms, West Haven Lakes, Old Mill Creek and Oak Lake areas may be related as investigators have discovered some similarities.

Most of the cases involve the theft of TVs, game systems and other electronic equipment. In one of the incidents, gift cards and several Christmas presents were taken.

Police say most of the burglaries have occurred between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. when the residents were not at home.

The thief, or thieves, gain access to the homes through rear or garage doors. In one instance, it appears they drove a vehicle to the back of the house.
