Donald Trump had better not use the word “fat” so often when he is feuding with Rosie O’Donnell, a talk-show host of ABC’s “The View,” because others her size, or larger, could also take offense to his negative statements.

The exchange of harsh words between the two began last week on “The View” when Rosie began ridiculing him for his decision to give Tara Conner, Miss USA, a second chance that resulted in her keeping her crown. Rosie also called him names and imitated him by throwing her hair to one side of her head.

He retaliated by saying the following: “One of the greatest insults when a woman is as unattractive physically as well as inside, physically, as Rosie, is imitating me. Rosie O’Donnell is imitating the way I look. I don’t want her imitating me in any way, shape, or form.”

Please note that he repeated the word physically.

On the CNN Anderson Cooper show, Trump said, “I’ll probably sue her, because I would like to take some money out of her fat a** pockets.”

Again, he was aiming his words toward Rosie, but seemingly showing his disgust for fat people, and a side of his personality that I, and probably many others, didn’t know existed.

I do agree with Rosie, that Miss USA shouldn’t have been given another chance. I don’t agree with the way that she stated her disagreement.

My reasons for the disagreement are the following: Miss USA knew the rules going in; she knew that the spotlight would be on her during her reign; she would have many appearances during her reign and wouldn’t be able to make them if she is in rehab; and other queens who have made mistakes had not been given a second chance. Besides, that is one of the reasons why you have a first-runner-up. In this way, the title can be held by someone who can still represent it respectfully.

Trump should have realized that many people were going to disagree with his decision and prepared himself to not stoop to a level such as Rosie’s. Rosie is now receiving many positive comments, many from obese people. One lady commented on NBC news, “As a fattie to a fattie, she rocks.”

So, my advice to Mr. Trump, before he has to stand in front of a camera and apologize to obese people for his comments, is to stop his tongue slinging with Rosie and throw her a kiss with a final message, Keep It Simple Stupid.

If he doesn’t stop, he may be facing a major boycott from people with everything associated with the name Trump, and because of the boycott, his future tune could possibly be “I’m retired,” instead of “You’re fired.”

Saddened by death of one

of my favorite soul singers

One way to tell that you are getting old is when most of your teenage rock or soul singers have passed the age of 70 or have expired.

I was saddened to hear of the death of one of my favorite singers at 73, James Brown, on Christmas morning.

It was first reported on Sunday that he died of pheumonia, but reported on Monday that it was due to heart failure. Now, he is walking down the streets of gold with some of my other male artist favorites, Otis Redding, Luther Vandross and Gerald LeVert.

I will miss him, but his music will be with us for a long time.

I want to publicly thank the ladies at the Suffolk City Clerk’s Office for making my gathering of information for marriage licenses and land transfers in that office much easier in the year 2006.
