Dorothy Mattie Clemons, 96, of 29143 Berlin Dory Road, Courtland, died Sept. 15, 2008 in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
A native of Suffolk, Dorothy was born Aug. 6, 1912 to the late Ireane and Bolden Tabron.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Ethel Carr, Elizabeth Kello and Bernice Boykins; two brothers: Lloyd Tabron and Joseph Tabron; two nieces and one nephew.
She is survived by five nieces: Margaret Worrell (Tommie), of Courtland, Va., Dorothy Wingate and Deloise Fulmore, both of Norfolk, Va., Shirley Shannon (Herbert), of Laurel, Md.; Doris Drumgold (Willie), of Chesapeake, Va.; two nephews, James Tabron (Mercede) and Joseph Tabron (Sarah), all of Norfolk, Va.; two grandchildren, a host of great-nieces and nephews and friends.
A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Antioch United Church of God, 900 Hull Ave., Suffolk, with the Rev. Jarvis Jones presiding. Burial will take place in Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Engram Funeral Home, 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin, VA 23851 is serving the family.
