The Bears have looked surprisingly good, even in last week’s 20-17 loss at Carolina. Matt Forte, a rookie running back from Tulane, has rushed for 215 yards.

Arizona (2-0) at Washington (1-1) – 1 p.m.

The Redskins are good. In any other NFC division, they’d be an easy pick for the playoffs. In the NFC East, “good” could still get you fourth place.

The Vikings, Browns, Chargers and Jaguars top the list of possible playoff teams which already face must-win games.

The other side of the coin is Denver. Whether by lucky break or not, the Broncos were in position to win as Jay Cutler threw for 350 yards and Denver’s averaging the most yards per game in the NFL.

San Francisco is 10-1 against the Lions since 1988. I’m sure some of you at least have Frank Gore on your fantasy team.

Seattle has lost six wide receivers to injury this August and September, even including quarterback-turned-receiver Seneca Wallace who injured his calf in warm-ups last week. Fortunately, at least for one week, Seattle gets the Rams.

Even in the repeated trips to the NFC championship game, the Eagle offense hasn’t looked this good in Donovan McNabb’s career.

Cleveland (0-2) at Baltimore (1-0) – 4 p.m.

Another embarrassing part of Cincinnati’s season so far was Joe Flacco’s 40-yard touchdown run last week. Cleveland beat the Ravens twice last year. If the Browns go to 0-3, the Brady Quinn idea will resurface.

Jacksonville (0-2) at Indianapolis (1-1) – 4 p.m.

All-everything safety Bob Sanders is out for at least four weeks for the Colts. Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor haven’t got going yet for Jacksonville this year. They need to today.

Dallas (2-0) at Green Bay (2-0) – 8:15 p.m.

Green Bay’s looking smart two games into the Aaron Rodgers “era” and even if Rodgers falls off a bit from Pro Bowl-level passing, the Packers are solid favorites in the NFC North now. Which Dallas defense comes out tonight? The one that tore Cleveland apart, or the one McNabb picked apart?

N.Y. Jets (1-1) at San Diego (0-2) – 8:30 p.m., Monday

Since 1990, only three 0-3 teams have rebounded to make the playoffs. Having Shawne Merriman out for the year and LaDainian Tomlinson at half-speed is all it takes to bring a team to the pack in the NFL.
