WINDSOR – Mrs. Ruby W. Thompson, 76, of 22404 Courthouse Highway, Windsor, passed away Oct. 2, 2008 at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at Chapel Grove United Church of Christ, 7366 West Blackwater Road, Windsor, officiated by the Rev. H.C. Church and the Rev. J.J. Ferguson. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Old School House Museum, 516 Main St., Smithfield, from 2 to 4 p.m., and will lie in state at the church from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Duck, 8394 Blackwater Road, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Ruby W. Thompson Memorial at the School House Museum, Inc., P.O. Box 1113, Smithfield, VA 23431. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
