Robert Deloatch

Robert “Charlie” Deloatch, 66, of 234 ½ North Fifth Street, Suffolk, passed away Oct. 2, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Nansemond County and son of the late Johnnie and Laura Tillery Deloatch. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Deloatch, and a brother, John Deloatch. He was formerly employed as a bricklayer with Blake Construction Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Deloatch; one daughter, Sandra Jackson of Suffolk; one son, Jerome Deloatch of New York; five sisters, Ada Deloatch, Helen Wright, both of Suffolk, Barbara Harris (Alphonso) of Sickleville, N.J., Gloria Joseph (Jesse) of Chesapeake and Evelyn Deloatch of Suffolk; three brothers, Johnnie Deloatch of Portsmouth, Leroy Deloatch and Anthony Deloatch of Suffolk; five grandchildren; devoted niece and caregiver, Shelia Deloatch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Saint Timothy Baptist Church, officiated by Elder Alexander Cheatham. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
