Dorothy Boyette

WINDSOR, Va. – Dorothy Louise Joyner Boyette, 86, a lifelong resident of Windsor, Va., passed away on Oct. 8, 2008.
A member of Windsor Baptist Church, she was a homemaker and had worked for VDOT as a clerk. Mrs. Boyette was born on Nov. 22, 1921, in Isle of Wight County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Leonidas “Lonnie” Harrison and Mary Elizabeth Holland Joyner, and was also predeceased by her husband of 61 years, David Albert Boyette, and her brother, Woodrow H. Joyner.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn B. and Stanley M. Jones, of Hanover, Va., Shirley B. and John F. Rudin, of Chesterfield, Va., David Leon and Mary Charlotte Boyette, of Windsor, Va.; three grandchildren, Michael R. and Jennifer Batteau, of Fort Myers, Fla., Elizabeth A. Morris, of Chesterfield, Va., and Bryan L. Boyette, of Windsor, Va., sisters-in-law, Clara Boyette Butler, of Franklin, Va., and Virginia R. Joyner, of Peachtree City, Ga.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell & Hill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bryan Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Windsor Cemetery.
Friends may join the family on Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at the residence of David and Mary Charlotte Boyette.
