Lauranetta Wiggins

Lauranetta Hyman Wiggins, 64, of the 100 block of Walnut Street, Suffolk, died Oct. 22, 2008 at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Lessie C. Hyman.
Lauranetta was a graduate of East Suffolk High School and attended Tuskegee Institute. She worked as an operating room surgical technician for Sentara Obici Hospital for 23 years. She was a lifelong member of East End Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Deaconate Ministry, Voices of Praise Choir, Senior Adult Ministry, Partners in Education, Women’s Prayer Ministry, Stewardship Education Ministry, Come As You Are Ministry, Funeral Support Ministry, and Church Office Ministry. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Kaye H. Jefferson of Suffolk; two brothers, Woodrow W. Hyman, Jr. and Jeffrey L. Hyman (Patricia A. Hyman), all of Suffolk; nieces and nephews, Travis L. Jefferson, Ashley N. Jefferson, Jennifer L. Taylor, Lauranetta R. Hyman, Kenneth Davis, Robert Davis Chelsea Chase and Kisa Hyman, all of Washington, D.C.; 11 great nieces and nephews; cousins and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at East End Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Mark A. Croston. Entombment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
