Dr. Charles G. Thedieck Jr., OB-GYN, retired, 83, of Richmond, passed away peacefully Oct. 27, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Cecilia Grasberger Thedieck, of Suffolk, Va.; sister, Mary Ewald of Greenwich, Conn.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Martha Lea Thedieck; children, Charles G. Thedieck III (Ann), Frederick Lea Thedieck, Margaret Thedieck Slauter (Mark) and Henry C. Thedieck (Tina); five grandchildren, Charles IV, Ashlea, Virginia, Caitlin and Samantha; sister, Dorthea “Dotsy” Miles of St. Augustine, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dr. Thedieck was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Merchant Marines. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and MCV Medical School.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Richmond, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1503 Michaels Road, Richmond, Va. 23229, or St. Bridget Building Fund, 6006 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Va. 23226.
