Alma L. O’Berry, 93, of Wakefield, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk. Born Sept. 15, 1915 in Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Riddick and Hettie Daughtrey Lassiter. She was the widow of John H. O’Berry, who died in 1972.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Wakefield Baptist Church in Wakefield, officiated by the Rev. James H. Kerr. Burial will follow in Wakefield Cemetery, in Wakefield. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Wakefield Baptist Church, P.O. Box 567, Wakefield, VA 23888.
