Suffolk native Wallace Edward Wright, 71, died Oct. 29, 2008 in Maryland after a brief illness. He worked with Office Moviers, Md. for 10 years. His parents precede him in death – Virginia Wright and Percy Lyons, as did sister, Evelyn Lee, and daughter, LouBrenda Stagg.
Left to mourn are children, Deborah Mitchell, Yvette Holliman, Michael Stagg, and Wallace Gore, of Virginia, Sandra Williams, Barbara Hendricks, Erin and Jada Green, of Maryland; Coley Williams, Beverly Freeman, and Toma Thornhill, of Florida; Claude Ellis, of Georgia; and Ron King, of New York City; brother, Raymond Wright (Alma), sisters, Joyce Haggard (Willie) and Pearline Simmons, of Suffolk; uncle, Bobby Wright (Bernice), of Portsmouth; former wife, Mary Drayton, devoted friend, Pat Hayes, of Maryland, and 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of cherished relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Pope Funeral Home, 5538 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, Md. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk, Va. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at Morning Star Baptist Church, Windsor, Va. The family will receive family and friends at the home of her daughter, Yvette Holliman, Suffolk, Va.
