Since the idea proved to be such a success in the Peanut Fest Parade, Suffolk Humane Society is looking for people who have adopted pets from Suffolk Animal Control to participate in the Holiday Parade on Dec. 13 in downtown Suffolk.
The Society will have a “walk of fame” to showcase the lucky pets that have been adopted from Suffolk Animal Control.
People are invited to walk dogs who have been adopted, and owners of cats and other pets adopted from Suffolk Animal Control are invited to walk with photos or signs.
Angela Chandler, executive director of Suffolk Humane, encourages everyone to come out and showcase their pets.
“We hope everyone who has adopted a Suffolk shelter pet will plan to come out and be a part of the celebration,” she said. “We want everyone to see firsthand what wonderful pets are available at our local shelter.”
If you have adopted or know of someone who has adopted and would like to take part in this tribute, call 374-1476 or e-mail info@suffolkhumanesociety.
The Suffolk Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the welfare of companion animals in the community through sponsoring spay/neuter programs, placing homeless animals in loving permanent homes and providing quality humane education with an emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
