SUFFOLK – Randy Darnell Jordan, born Feb. 24, 1958, passed away on Dec. 28, 2008. Randy was a native of Suffolk, Va., but was raised in Passaic, N.J. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Alfonza Felton; his sister, Janet Jordan Williamson; his stepfather, John Morris Godette; and his uncle, Sim Earl Jordan.
He was a graduate of Passaic High School. After graduation, Randy went into the U.S. Army and served his country for six years. After the military, Randy worked as head machine operator in Passaic, N.J. until his retirement due to his illness.
Randy is survived by his mother, Evelyn M. Godette; his daughter, Sharonda Lewis (Jerry Jr.), of Suffolk; one sister, Tonia Godette, of Portsmouth; one foster brother, Michael Giles Sr., of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Maya Lewis and Aaron Lewis; one niece, Nikki Jordan; three nephews, Michael Giles Jr., Kishon Jordan and Montain Jordan, of West Virginia; one grandmother, Mary E. Jordan; two uncles, Vernon Jordan (Ruth Ann), of Passaic, N.J., and James C. Jordan, of Suffolk; four aunts, Dorothy Coley, of Padison, N.J., Catherine Gates, of Suffolk, Sylvia Fields, of Newport News, Va., and Connie Jolly (Rod), of Hyattsville, Md.; one special cousin and caregiver, Darlene Baily; one special life-long friend, Pastor Betty Milteer Knight.
The funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by Evangelist Betty Milteer Knight. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
