Alberta Butler Brogdon, of 316 Fuller St., Suffolk, Va., died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County, and the daughter of the late John Ford and Doah Butler. She was also predeceased by her brother, Mandon Butler.
She was a member of East End Baptist Church, and attended Nansemond County Public Schools.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Alphin Brogdon, one daughter, Mary L. Walker (Tyrone); one son, Ciphalinda Brogdon, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 at East End Baptist Church with Dr. Mark A. Croston officiating. The body will be taken to the church for viewing at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
