SUFFOLK — Brenda H. Boone, 68, of 114 Nancy Drive, Apt. 101 K, a mother, grandmother, and best friend, was hand-picked by God to enter into eternal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born on Oct. 25, 1940 to the late Ellsworth and Eleanor Hadley in Littleton, N.H.
Brenda was an active and loyal member of The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation, where she was on the Women’s Ministry and the Pastor’s Aide. She was known as the neighborhood’s mother and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Brenda was the graduate of Medford High School, Mass. and Paul D. Camp Community College, Suffolk, Va., with a Bachelor of Arts in business management and data processing. She had retired from Obici Hospital as a telephone operator.
Brenda is predeceased by her husband, the late Roosevelt Boone Sr., and a great foster, the late Mr. Linwood Holland.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Sonja Holland (James), Natika Boone (Mike, a devoted friend), Debralee Evans (Leon), all of Suffolk, two sons, Roosevelt Boone Jr. (Ana), and Shawn Boone (Dee), of Boston, Mass., a loving and outstanding fiancee, Deacon Elect Henry J. Wethington, of Suffolk, 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three godchildren, an adopted mother, Ms. Margaret Holland, five adopted sisters, an adopted sister, Ms. Thelma Myrick, six adopted brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A homecoming service will be on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation by Prophet Brian E. Outlaw Sr., pastor and founder. Interment will be at the Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitations at the following locations: 114 Nancy Drive, Apt 101 K and Apt 507.
