Pat Garrison Dungan, 56, died Feb. 9, 2009.
Pat Garrison Dungan was born Oct. 12, 1952, in Norfolk to Jane Stinson and the late Warren “Bones” Garrison. She graduated from Bayside High School and was an alumna of VCU.
Pat Garrison Dungan resided in Chesapeake, Va., and then Suffolk, Va. She was an active member in Zion Christian Church and Quaker Friends Meeting, both in Suffolk. Pat Garrison Dungan was a fine artist, a peace activist and an animal rights advocate. She is survived by her five children: sons, Aaron, Benjamin, Joshua, Daniel, and one daughter, Christie (they will miss her most of all), as well as their father, Larry Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Dungan; mother-in-law, Margaret Dungan; her mother, Jane Smith and stepfather, Red Smith; brother, Charley; sister, Carol; numerous step-siblings and aunt, Peggy Pediua.
In her young life she touched so very many people. She will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Zion Christian Church, corner of Lummis Road and Quaker Drive, by the Rev. Ben Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends in the church Friday from 1 until 2 p.m. Following the service, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.
