Frances Higgins Darden, 86, died Feb. 9, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in Crittenden, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Francis and Bertha O. Higgins, widow of Floyd Darden and sister of the late Mary Higgins Brown.
Survivors include her sons, Floyd Darden Jr. of White Stone, Va., John Franklin Darden, of St. Mary’s, ID, William Marshall Darden, of Lexington Park, Md.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett’s Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, by Robert Thompson and Vernon Marsh. Burial will be in Mt Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
