Suffolk police have released a photo of a ring in an effort to get the public’s help in solving a burglary that took place last week at a home in the 7500 block of Indian Trail Road.
The $32,000 ring contains a 1.5-carat diamond and four rubies. Police hope that its distinctiveness will be the key to its recovery and the arrest of the thief who took it.
According to a city press release, an unknown person or persons broke into the home during the daytime hours on Feb. 26. The bedroom was ransacked and two jewelry boxes and a Ruger .357-caliber revolver were stolen. The ring was among the jewelry in the boxes.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Crime Line callers never have to give their names or appear in court. If the caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
