Mr. George Washington Daughtery, 89, formerly of Suffolk, Va., died Wednesday at Heartland Hospice House in Columbia, S.C.
Born in Suffolk, Va., he was the son of the late Thorn Spencer and Martha Daughtery.
He was a member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Church in Peak, S.C., and a former employee of Sea-Pro Boats, Inc.
Surviving are a devoted God-daughter, Wilda (Ann) Boyd, of Little Mountain, S.C.; four grandchildren, Christine, Jackie and Alvin Boyd, all of Little Mountain, S.C., and James C. Boyd, of Charlotte, N.C.; and friends.
Funeral services and burial will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Pine Grove A.M.E. Church in Peak, S.C.
