Virginia Hattie Owens, 82, formerly of Suffolk (Whaleyville), Va., peacefully passed away, Tuesday, April 28, at Carney Hospital in Boston, Mass. She was born on July 22, 1926 in Suffolk, Va.
Virginia leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Paulette Windett (Colin), Diane Jordan Singleton (Leroy), and Nancy Jordan; son, James Jordan (Debbie); and a host of grandchildren and other family and friends.
Ms. Owens will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the hour of service and a service of remembrance will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries. Interment will immediately follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
