Rosia Goodman

SUFFOLK – Rosia Jordan Goodman, 93, went home to be with her Lord on June 11, 2009. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Curtis and Clara Warren Jordan, and the widow of Curtis Goodman.
Mrs. Goodman was retired from Planters Peanut Company after 43 years of service. She was a member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Circle and Usher Board, where she was former president and treasurer. She was also a member of the Daughters of Salem, Untied Order of Tents No. 61.
She leaves a legacy of love and beautiful memories to her three daughters, Mary L. Davis (James A. Sr.), of Suffolk, Gladys Carolina, of Newark, N.J., and Barbara Roberts, of Newport News; foster children, Donald Savage, Annette Brown and Theresa Coles, all of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren (including two special grandchildren, Shalonda Goodman and Shavonda Goodman), nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Amaya Rosia Lee Goodman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Diamond Grove Baptist Church, 6890 Crittenden Road, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Calvin A. Lillard. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will be at the home of her daughter, 1844 Nansemond Parkway.
