WINDSOR – Elizabeth “Betty” Sexton Wills, 88, went to be with her Lord on June 17, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in Hamlet, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John W. and Nena L. Sexton. Mrs. Wills was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in missions, which was her passion. She traveled to Japan to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was currently a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church.
She was a former member of the Lakeside Garden Club and enjoyed arranging flowers and painting. For several years she served as a doctor’s assistant.
Survivors include her husband, John R. “Jack” Wills Jr.; children, John R. Wills III; Beverley W. Ruegsegger and husband, Ronald, all of Windsor, William S. Wills and wife Patricia, of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Kathryn Wills, John R. Wills IV and wife, Lisa, John Ruegsegger, Benjamin Ruegsegger, Clare Ruegsegger, John L. Wills, Alina Wills; great-grandchildren, Lexus Wills and Nayelli Ruegsegger; sister, Beverley Hathaway, of Suffolk.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday, June 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church by Dr. Ruffin Alphin. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory Sunday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Missions Program, 3488 Godwin Blvd, Suffolk, VA 23434.
